Description: This course addresses two related elements of good teaching: quality differentiation and effective grading practices. Being sensitive to students' readiness levels and learning styles while holding them accountable for the same standards can be a challenge. This course will provide a thought-provoking look at differentiation, grading, and related situations that we all encounter in diverse classrooms. |
Objectives: The participant will:
- Understand how to approach such important grading issues as final marks, homework, late work, report card formats, effort, and participation.
- Understand the educational value of differentiating instruction.
- Demonstrate an ability to incorporate differentiate curriculum.
- Provide an action plan for improving his/her grading effectiveness.
