Description: In this course, participants will explore numerous ways to establish an ongoing social curriculum where a sense of community and self control are valued. The Responsive Classroom approach recognizes that successful classroom management is a foundation of teaching/learning, and it offers educators tools and techniques for creating a classroom community that is nurturing, respectful, and full of learning. |
Objectives: As a result of this participation in this course, students should:
- understand the importance of a strong social curriculum.
- describe and create a nurturing learning community where respect, self-control, and self-worth are deeply valued.
- design activities that effectively integrate Classroom Response strategies.
- implement Responsive Classroom principles into the classroom.
