Description:
This is a totally on-line course, using a text as the basis for learning and assignments. All assignments will be transmitted via e-mail to the facilitator/instructor, and feedback transmitted back to the participant.

The main focus of this developmental class is on the whole child as they grow and develop from childhood through adolescence. The developmental and whole child focus translates into a study of change in the physical, social, emotional and cognitive areas. The effects of these changes are profound during this period of life; the effects are felt by the child and all those that have contact with him/her.

This stage of life is a high-energy, risk-taking, peaks and valleys time of wonder and exploration. While almost everyone emerges from this stage intact, no one emerges unchanged, whether child or adult. It's an exciting time; this course will capture pieces of that excitment.

The objectives of this course are:
  • To understand the typical physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of adolescents.
